Cookie policy
The cookies and local storage we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
01What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use local storage for similar purposes. Together they let the Store function (e.g. keep you signed in and remember your cart), remember preferences and — with your consent — help us understand how the Store is used.
02Categories we use
- Essential — required for the Store to work (authentication, security, cart). These cannot be switched off.
- Functional — remember preferences such as your currency.
- Analytics — optional, used only with your consent to measure and improve the Store.
03Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| appSession / Auth0 | Cookie | Essential | Keeps you signed in and secures your account session. |
| X-XSRF-TOKEN | Cookie | Essential | Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery. |
| watchforest-cart-v2 | Local storage | Essential | Remembers the items and configurations in your cart. |
| watchforest-currency | Local storage | Functional | Remembers your selected display currency (USD/EUR/GBP). |
| wf-cookie-consent | Local storage | Essential | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask again. |
| Stripe (__stripe_*) | Cookie | Essential | Set by Stripe during checkout for payment processing and fraud prevention. |
04Managing your preferences
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your decision at any time by clearing the wf-cookie-consent entry, or by managing cookies in your browser settings, where you can also delete existing cookies.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Store (such as sign-in or checkout) from working correctly.
05Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties that help us operate the Store, notably our identity provider (Auth0) and payment provider (Stripe) during checkout. Their processing is governed by their own policies. See our Privacy Policy for the controllers and processors involved.
